General Public

This workshop has reached capacity for the general public. Please email sma@sou.edu to be placed on the waitlist.

The workshop will be followed by a Creative Industries Discussion with Maria de Los Angeles in the Meese Auditorium at 2pm. This discussion is free and open to the public. No reservations are required.

Identity Garment Workshop

Join us to customize a clothing item via printmaking, painting, and mixed media techniques. Please bring any clothing items you wish to use as material and other patches or found graphics. What we wear is a container to express who we are and what we believe in. De Los Angeles is known for her garment sculptures that incorporate drawing and painting, as well as upcycled materials to discuss identity and belonging. Attendees are strongly encouraged to attend Maria’s 2pm Creative Industries Discussion immediately following the workshop.

Materials to Bring

Bring clothing items that you wish to use as collage materials or any other materials you want to use in addition to what we will provide.

Free event parking is available in designated lots.
