Peter de Lory Photographs

Exhibition Statement

The Schneider Museum of Art was proud to present this retrospective exhibition of the work of Peter De Lory. The exhibition was designed to present a sampling of Peter’s work produced during the previous 18 years and to document the evolution of his style.

Among the early influences on De Lory’s work was the great photographer Minor White. From White, De Lory developed A unique and personal sense of vision which has evolved in A methodical and logical manner. His work has always been on the “cutting edge” of contemporary photography.

The creative vision expressed in his work revealed subtleties in nature and in our Society, which are not always apparent to our visual perception at one extreme, some of Peter’s work whispers to the viewer with poetic undertones. At the other extreme, his work shouted with the beat and rhythms of rock ‘n’ roll. Such is the life and times of the 70’s and 80’s and the masterful creative expression of Peter De Lory.
