Exhibition Statement
To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Ashland’s Schneider Museum of Art on the SOU campus, museum staff chose to present an exhibition of works by John Buck. A Montana resident, Buck was singled out because of his unique accomplishments as a sculptor, painter, and printmaker, that have brought him to the forefront of contemporary Northwest art. The maturity, originality, and unwavering focus of his work have made him part of a generation that has attracted the attention of art lovers all over the country, and caused the Northwest to be considered a significant region for the growth and development of contemporary art.
