David Giese:
The Rise and Fall of Taste

Exhibition Statement

The Rise and Fall of Taste was an installation of 53 sculptural and architectural fragments of a mythical ancient Italian villa, the Villa Bitricci, created by David Giese, a Professor of Art at the University of Idaho. Giese illustrates the passage of time and the transition of artistic styles from the 3rd to the 19th centuries which documents what Giese called “The Rise and Fall of Taste.”
