Schedule a Tour for Your School Group
The Schneider Museum of Art would like to encourage you to schedule free tours of our exhibitions. Tours of the spring exhibition, Convergence: Digital Media and Technology, are available through Friday, May 26.
A visit to our galleries will provide your students a valuable opportunity to meet the Common Core Standards in a meaningful, fun way. We offer a variety of tour options that will help you tailor your visit to the standards you would like to meet. Our options are:
- Full Museum Overview, 30 – 60 minutes
Best for community/university groups. Full tour of the current exhibition discussing the art, the artists, and their techniques. Time requirements for this tour are flexible. Recommended group size of up to 30 participants.
- Artist Overview and Scavenger Hunt, 45 – 60 minutes
Best for Grades K-5. Brief overview of select artwork that approaches the exhibition theme, with free time afterward to complete a scavenger hunt and discussion activity designed to connect to Common Core standards. Recommended group size of 15-25 participants.
- Standard Themed Tour and Writing Worksheet, 60 – 75 minutes
Best for grades 6-12. Docents will lead students in discussions that connect to Common Core standards during a tour of the exhibition. Included is a reflection worksheet for students to further explore these standards independently. Recommended group size of 15-25 participants.
Sign up for a tour by filling out our tour request form. Once registered, you will receive pre-visit information and guidelines. You can reach our education program for questions by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at (541) 552-6389.
Thank you, we look forward to seeing you and your students.
